Martin Luther King, Jr
Principles of Nonviolence
"The Will"

  • Nonviolence is a way of life for courageous people.
  • The Beloved community is the framework for the future.
  • Fight the forces of evil, not the people doing evil.
  • Accept suffering without retaliation for the cause, to achieve the goal.
  • Avoid internal violence of the spirit, as well as external physical violence.
  • The universe is on the side of justice.

                   Love Thy Neighbor Principles
  • The way of nonviolence is learned.
  • Personal and community peace is acheived through nonviolence.
  • Nonviolence is the way to have a lasting peace in Palestine/Israel.
  • Our peace community includes all people, regardless of race, religion, or creed.
